I have extensive experience in starting and managing high-tech companies in Silicone Valley. This experience has given me a broad ability to quickly review and assess key objectives and make tough executive decisions necessary for the well-being and success of the corporation. My expertise is in identifying problems, developing solutions, and implementing cost-effective strategies. This recipe will guarantee success in any startup corporation.

I also have an extensive engineering and technical background that will enable me to assess infrastructure and traffic problems from an engineering and fiscal point of view. Further, I have experience with governmental legislation and the legal system having represented my family's interests in State, Federal, and Supreme Court. Proudly, I have created new case law to preserve our constitutional rights in America.

I would remind all citizens of El Dorado Hills of the fundamental doctrines, upon which our country was founded. People have been coming to America, since the Mayflower landed in 1620, seeking freedom from oppression and tyranny, in order to build a better life for themselves and their families. It has been said that America is a melting pot of diverse people from all over the world. Irrespective of race, sex, age, ethnicity, religion, political or economic distinction, we are a country, whose ideals are the basis of our humanity. Through our civility, compassion, tolerance, and respect for others we can be liberated from a society of harms. Our founding forefathers wisely and courageously provided us with the fundamental doctrines from which our country was born. By our diligence and dedication to create a free America, free from discrimination and the bondage of inequality, we remind ourselves of the eloquence and poignancy in the words of our Declaration of Independence:

"We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. [emphasis added]"

Our duty as a free society is to uphold the freedoms and equalities as espoused in our Declaration of Independence. As our community grows and new residents arrive, we must ensure that our community reflects the best of America. It is the responsibility of those in leadership positions to set the standards. As your city council member, I will always remind myself of these self-evident truths, keeping them close to my heart to guide me in my service to our community. My hope is that after my time is complete you can look back and say Charel Winston, pioneer and visionary, left "The Golden City" to the heart beat of angels and the magic of a dream that lives on.
