Charel Winston For City Council
Facts & Information

  • All but 5% of planning and development of the City of El Dorado Hills has already been allocated.

  • Lower-income housing does not refer to housing for the poor, but rather affordable housing for people whose financial means falls into the category of 40-50k annual income. Average economic standard of income in America is 30k; therefore, our lower-income housing (merely 1% of the total housing population of EDH) will actually be higher than the average populace.

  • One concept for the city requisite for lower-income housing is a state-of-the-art senior development center with full care facilities to accommodate seniors, as well as the disabled. We must ensure that all our citizens are extended the same quality of living with the dignity, care and service we deserve. This is our commitment.

Our vision for this premier state-of-the-art senior center is the result and culmination of many years of studying the needs of the elderly. So many care centers concentrate on the use of heavy medications and have few, if any, programs that stimulate the minds and hearts of its residents, rendering them depressed, inutile, and non-responsive, only to suffer needlessly and inexcusably.

Our center will be full of very exciting programs, from art and music to aerobics, yoga, story-telling, computer classes and volunteering their skills. The choices are endless, depending on the needs and desires of the resident senior in cooperation with a special, well-trained, customer-service based staff and the latest technology in health care.

As a "pilot program" much of the cost will be incurred by the technology companies for research and development to create new and exciting programs for seniors and disabled Americans. The City of El Dorado Hills will benefit two-fold, solving the issue of affordable housing, while creating a much-needed state-of-the-art senior care center that will be a model for other communities throughout America.
